History of Transportation in Pontiac County

A book, written by Gordon “G. Graham, “Suffering from a Want of Communication: A History of Transportation in Pontiac County” is available for research at the Pontiac Archives.
It includes information dating back to 1800s. This book is written in English and in French.

There is also a large collection of materials regarding railroads in the Pontiac and the Ottawa Valley available for research. One file is “Union Village Horse Railway” which is very old.
